Sarah Acosta Smith, NDNaturopathic Physician
Dr. Acosta Smith earned her BA in Kinesiology and Applied Physiology from University of Colorado at Boulder. She was then accepted at Bastyr University and earned her Naturopathic Doctorate.
She completed a two year residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health in Seattle WA , rotating through community health centers and major regional hospitals. Dr. Acosta Smith practices with a focus on family medicine and women’s health. She has special interests in treating migraines, autoimmune disorders, endocrine issues, and gastrointestinal disorders. |

Emily graduated from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA in 2013 with a BS in Biology/Anthropology. She then obtained a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Idaho State University in Boise, ID – graduating in 2020.
Emily is a nationally board certified Physician Assistant. She is passionate about women’s health and preventative medicine. “After growing up in a rural mountain town in Idaho, I am excited to move back to a place that is close to the mountains, and where the community has a strong sense of unity and camaraderie. I am excited to work for FHC, whose clinics span the Okanagan, so I am able to connect to the diversity of people who call it their home.” |

Kevan Coffey, DNPDoctor of Nursing Practice/ Medical Director
Kevan has a doctorate degree in her Adult & Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Specialty from the University of Washington, a Master of Science in Nursing in her Adult & Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Specialty from Yale University, and is currently a Clinical Scholars Fellow at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
Her interests include geriatrics, chronic disease management, women’s health and mental health. “I am excited to work for a clinic with such exemplary dedication to community service and excellence in primary care. Dr. Cooley completed her undergraduate degree at Whitworth University and medical degree from University of Washington. She completed her residency at Swedish Cherry Hill Family Medicine.
Her interests are in LGBT/ gender affirming care, OB, women’s health, preventative medicine and community organizing. “I’m looking forward to living in a place where I can play in the outdoors in my free time and have an impact on my community in my job. Victoria ‘Tory’ DeSalvo, ARNPFamily Nurse Practitioner
Victoria ‘Tory’ earned her RN degree thru the Omak Wenatchee Valley College nursing program. She went on to earn her MSN Family Nurse Practitioner at Gonzaga after earning her Bachelor’s Degree from Athabasca University. A longtime resident of Okanogan County, her hobbies are running & skiing and spending time with her family.

Julie Frenette, FNP, CNMCertified Nurse-Midwife/Nurse Practitioner
Julie earned her Nurse Practitioner degree from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professional in 2005. She then obtained her certification in Midwifery in 2009 from University of Utah.
Julie worked at a birth center in Texas with women and families from Mexico and then provided comprehensive care to women in the rural mountains of Lesotho, in southern Africa. She has a strong background and passion for providing comprehensive and preventive healthcare. She emphasizes self-determination and respect in all of her work. Away from form the clinic, she can be found outside, mountain biking or skiing. ” I am excited to be able to provide primary care services as well as women’s health and obstetric care to such a dynamic community. I feel lucky to join the wonderful providers of FHC and to have a chance to live in such a beautiful area of the Pacific Northwest.” |

Amanda Segars-Huffstetler, PA-CPhysician Assistant- Certified
Amanda (“Mandi’) has been dedicated to serving patients at FHC since 2011. She especially loves getting to know her patients and caring for whole families. Originally from Kennewick, WA, she attended Western Washington University and earned a BA in Psychology and BS in Biology, then a graduate degree (MS) in Biology. Amanda then went on to earn a Master in Physician Assistant Studies degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch, graduating with honors.
After graduating from UTMB she and her husband worked at Farmworker clinics in California’s Central Valley, then at a safety net clinic in Colorado. After their third son was born, they moved back to Washington to be closer to family and to raise their family in Okanogan. They love everything that Okanogan has to offer – a nice community full of good people and natural beauty. When not working, she loves to be with her family, cook, hike, camp, and travel. |

Waldemar Lugo-Alvarez, MDAdult Internal Medicine
Dr. Lugo joins us from Puerto Rico where he graduated from the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Caguas Regional Hospital. As an internist he can diagnose and provide treatment of disease and injuries of internal organ systems.
Dr. Lugo is experienced at handling the broad and comprehensive spectrum of illness that affect adults and considers all of your medical needs for whole body health. His excellent Spanish makes him an asset in our community. When not in clinic he enjoys tennis, biking and fishing. He looks forward to interacting with other cultures in our diverse and beautiful community. |

Romany Redman, MDPhysician
Dr. Redman completed medical school at University of Colorado in Denver in 2016, then moved to Salt Lake City for residency training in combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and University of Utah. She is a double board-certified Pediatrician and Internal Medicine physician.
Her interests include patient-centered healthcare, chronic disease management, and health education. Randy Robbins, PA-CPhysician Assistant – Certified
Randy graduated from Omak High School 1999. He attended Eastern Washington University obtaining Bachelors of Science 2006. Completed Masters of Clinical Health Services through the University of Washington 2015; MEDEX graduate. Sixteen years of military service with the Washington Army National Guard. Prior enlisted combat medic, currently serving as a medical provider. Completed Army Flight Surgeons course 2017.

Ariel ‘Logan’ Rost, ND, MPH, CHESNaturopathic Resident Physician
Dr. Rost earned her BA in Psychology from Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC and her MA in Anthropology (focus in Medical Anthropology) from the University of Colorado Denver. She then went on to earn her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and MPH from Bastyr University where she graduated in 2020. She completed her first year of residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health teaching clinic in Seattle.
Logan’s special interests include primary care through the lens of health of the larger community, as well as working to ensure just and equitable medical care for all. Logan is originally from rural Tennessee, so she is looking forward to being part of a smaller community and to being able to expand access to naturopathic primary care to rural communities. |

Robie Sterling, MDPhysician w/ OB
Dr. Sterling earned his medical degree at University California, Davis and completed his residency at Swedish Family Medicine Cherry Hill.
His areas of interest are social justice, rural & global health, along with full spectrum family medicine. Dr. Sterling’s areas of focus include obstetrical care, addiction services including suboxone, adult and pediatric general medicine, hepatitis C treatment, and routine dermatologic procedures and biopsies. He is also fluent in Spanish. “I’m excited to explore the beauty of the area and get to know the hard working people of the Okanogan.” |

Helen Walker, MS, RN, FNP-BCFamily Nurse Practitioner
Helen earned her Master of Science from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and her Bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University. She completed her clinical training at a number of specialty clinics and community health centers, including a longitudinal rotation at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.
Prior to becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner, Helen worked for the World Trade Center Health Program and Occupational Health Clinic in New York City. S he has a background in global health and worked in rural Ethiopia for several years. Helen is an advocate for accessible preventive and primary care services. Her special interests include environmental and farmworker health, women’s health, adolescent health, chronic disease management and mental health. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys hiking, cross-country skiing, gardening and spending time with her husband and family. “I am very much looking forward to partnering with patients and colleagues to meet the health needs and goals of this vibrant, strong and welcoming community.” |

James Wallace, MD, MPH, FAAFPPhysician w/ OB
Dr. Wallace is a family physician with a love serving entire families and helping patients through the many joys and challenges of life. He has additional training in obstetrics and public health. He attends deliveries and provides inpatient care at Mid Valley Hospital in Omak.
Dr. Wallace received his Masters in Public Health through the department of Health Behavior and Health Education at the University of North Carolina and attended medical school at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at UNC Hospitals, where he served as Chief Resident and focused on improving quality of care for rural, immigrant and refugee communities. After residency he worked for a short time in Western Washington and then volunteered for Alam Sehat Lestari in the rainforests of Indonesian Borneo. He returned to Washington in 2011, completed a year-long Fellowship in Advanced Obstetrics at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, and began work with Family Health Centers in 2012. “It is a privilege to live and work in north central Washington, to care for diverse and resilient patients who work hard to improve their lives and support their families, and to make our healthcare system better for them. I am fortunate to have the best coworkers on the planet. Our clinic teams go out of their way to ensure patients receive compassionate, high quality and personalized care.
